Job Overview
The Head Grower (HG) is a “hands on position” responsible for conducting, directing and coordinating growing activities of young plants or starter plants. These activities include but are not limited to implementation of crop cultural protocols including pest control, fertilizer, PGR applications, crop scheduling, and other phases of growing and production. The HG ensures the production of plants of proper quality, as required by the production planning schedule, in a cost efficient and environmentally sound manner The HG will lead and develop our growing team as well as oversee greenhouse operations. A successful HG works well with other departments and has excellent organization and communication skills, staying current with the latest growing techniques and technologies.
Minimum 3 years experience in greenhouse growing
BS degree in Horticulture or related field
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
· Excellent time-management skills
· Ability to effectively plan and prioritize
· Ability to communicate clearly and calmly
· Knowledge of modern greenhouse operations and environmental control systems
· Knowledge of large scale commercial plant cultivation including crop rotation management, nutrient requirements, media, light requirements and environmental control systems
· Accountability, proactive behavior and strong attention to detail.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
