Position Summary
The Technical Training Specialist will deliver Distribution Design Engineering Curriculum, Safety, Compliance, and other Technical Training to non-craft employees within Distribution Engineering & Construction Planning, Resource & Project Management, and PQR&I/Planning.
Responsibilities
Facilitate training that fosters learner engagement, understanding of learning objectives, leverage effective questioning techniques, and manage learner behaviors to lead to impactful sessions.
- Plan and prepare for classroom training including, but not limited to entering classes in MyTraining, reserving rooms, printing materials, verifying prerequisites have been met, gathering equipment/materials required, and communicating with learners
- Deliver role-specific, performance-based training with a strong focus on safety, standards, policies, and procedures
- Able to make one’s substantive experience and understanding a contributory factor to group learning
Partner with customers to develop and execute training plans.
- Demonstrate behaviors to foster a customer-centered culture
- Develop and assure adherence to training calendars
- Support the execution of new training courses and programs
- Support Human Performance by delivering training recommended as a corrective action
Communicate with and coach/train performers on technical issues to assure proper application of standards, policies, and procedures.
- Provide one-on-one coaching for technical skills
- Proctor learner assessments and provide constructive feedback on results
Provide leadership for change to assure continued improvement of processes and performers.
- Stay current on developing standards, technologies, and processes by interacting with customer groups
- Apply best practices of adult learning
- Demonstrate commitment to personal development
Required/Basic Qualifications
High School/GED degree- 5 years related work experience
- Commercial Drivers License and/or DOT Certification
Desired Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering
In addition to desired degree, 10 years related work experience
Demonstrated ability utilizing safety standards and procedures.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with ability to lead others through change.
Self-directed
Possesses experience with various Distribution C&M computer applications
Demonstrated experience in effectively handling of employee issues
Demonstrated ability to coach employees
Demonstrated ability to facilitate groups and presentation/ public speaking skills
Demonstrated effective verbal and written communications skills
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical information
