FINANCE AIDE
The Township of Montgomery is seeking a part time Finance Aide to assist the Finance Office.
Monday - Friday 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Job Duties / Responsibilities:
Receives and accounts for monies received from other departments and maintains such records.
Receives posts and accounts for payments received for Tax and Sewer Collection.
Verifies and posts to accounts in journals or computer files.
Creates deposits on monies received and transmits/sends to banking institution.
Reconciles and balances bank accounts.
Maintains inventory of supplies utilized by the Finance and Tax Collection Department.
May compile reports to show financial statistics.
Prepares tax searches as necessary.
Creates bill list.
Process purchase orders for payments.
Prepare and issue payroll and vendor checks.
Prepare and coordinate mailings/bills/notices for Tax/Sewer Collectors Office.
Performs wide variety of clerical account-keeping and related tasks.
Types reports and correspondence.
Maintain computer files of all Tax properties
Maintain physical filing system for Tax properties
Maintains and reconciles police private duty spreadsheet and monies
Provide customer assistance for the Tax Collectors Office
Provide assistance to all tax office functions on a daily basis
Provide assistance to purchasing functions
Maintains and ensures functionality of envelope stuffing machine.
Responsible for deposit slips and checks.
Scan appropriate documents to journal entries and purchase orders.
Assists Reception as needed.
Assist in making copies, filing, and other clerical duties as needed.
Assists with Shared Services responsibilities as assigned.
Performs other work as required or assigned.
Required Key Technical Skills, Knowledge & Education:
Knowledge of clerical methods used in fiscal accounts and records and of office terminology, procedures and equipment.
Some knowledge of business arithmetic; ability to maintain confidentiality; good judgement; ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with superiors and co-workers; ability to provide and assist the general public in a professional manner; some computer operation knowledge and skills; some use of financial calculator knowledge and skills; ability to maintain acceptable attendance records; ability to perform duties in a safe manner.
