The Procurement and Inventory Stock Associate is responsible for managing the store’s inventory, ensuring that shelves are well-stocked, and overseeing the procurement of goods. This role involves coordinating with suppliers, tracking inventory levels, and maintaining accurate records to support efficient store operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders to replenish stock as needed.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Organize and maintain stockrooms, ensuring that inventory is stored properly and accessible.
- Procurement:
- Source and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best product prices and terms.
- Review purchase orders and confirm delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and address any issues that arise.
- Stocking:
- Receive and inspect deliveries, ensuring that items are correct and in good condition.
- Stock shelves and displays according to store policies and planograms.
- Rotate stock to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, purchases, and sales.
- Update inventory management systems with relevant data.
- Prepare and submit reports on inventory status and procurement activities.
- Customer Service:
- Assist customers with locating products and providing product information as needed.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues related to inventory and stock.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with store management and other associates to support overall store operations.
- Participate in team meetings and provide input on inventory management and procurement strategies.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Previous experience in procurement, inventory management, or a similar role in a retail environment is preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 pounds).
- Standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
- Working in various environments, including stockrooms and sales floors.
Work Schedule:
- Full-time position with varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
