The Field Safety Representative is responsible for promoting and maintaining a culture of safety excellence within the oilfield services organization. They will work closely with field personnel, management, and clients to ensure all operations are conducted in compliance with safety regulations and company policies. The primary goal is to prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental incidents. DOT knowledge is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
● Safety Compliance: Ensure that all field activities adhere to local, state, federal, and company safety regulations and standards.
● Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments for various field operations, identify potential hazards, and develop mitigation plans.
● Safety Training: Provide safety training to field personnel, including new hires, and ensure they are adequately trained to perform their duties safely.
● Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into accidents, near misses, and incidents. Analyze root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
● Emergency Response: Develop and maintain emergency response plans and coordinate emergency drills and exercises to prepare for potential incidents.
● Safety Inspections: Conduct regular safety inspections of equipment, facilities, and work areas to identify and address safety hazards.
● Safety Reporting: Maintain accurate safety records, incident reports, and safety-related documentation. Compile and analyze safety data for reporting to management.
● Safety Communication: Promote a culture of safety by actively communicating safety policies, procedures, and initiatives to all employees and contractors.
● Audits and Compliance: Perform safety audits to ensure compliance with safety standards and recommend corrective actions as needed.
● Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Monitor and enforce the use of appropriate PPE by all personnel in the field.
● Regulatory Liaison: Stay updated on changes in safety regulations and industry best practices. Liaise with regulatory authorities as required.
● Safety Meetings: Organize and lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety committee meetings to engage employees in safety discussions and initiatives.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, or a related field (preferred).
● Relevant safety certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional - CSP).
● Previous experience in oilfield services or a related industry is highly desirable.
● Strong knowledge of safety regulations, policies, and best practices.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
● Proficiency in Google Suites, MicroSoft applications and safety management software.
